This is a truly rare event. Melissa Harris, renowned artist and intuitive, will be painting "spirit essence" portraits all day at Mirabai. She will do a watercolor painting of your unique essence as it chooses to appear to her in a semi-trance state. Learn what Melissa "sees" and own a Melissa Harris original. Since Melissa will only be painting 5 portraits this day, it is strongly suggested that you reserve early. Each portrait session will last about an hour and you will be able to take home your 7” x 10” watercolor that day. Cost: $195, required upon registering; please note there can be no cancellations/refunds once registered. Teacher Bio: Melissa Harris is a Fulbright Scholar who studied in Paris for 2 years on her grant for painting. She received her BFA in painting from Syracuse University in NY, and her MFA in painting from Queens College, in Flushing, NY. Melissa also studied at the University of Virginia, the Brooklyn Museum Art School, and The New York Studio School. She teaches private classes combining drawing, painting, and meditation, and has held workshops at the Omega Institute, The New York Open Center, and other centers throughout the US. Melissa's work has appeared on numerous magazine and book covers, several cassette and CDs, and both "We Moon" and "Celebrating Women's Spirituality" calendars (through 1998) Quite prolific, she has shown at nearly two dozen solo exhibitions, and many dozen more group exhibitions, in both the US and France. A desire to re-connect with nature after many years of life in New York and Paris prompted a move to the Woodstock, NY area in 1993 where she lives on 9 beautiful acres surrounded by a multitude of cats and other beauty.
