Or add a new one for all of us to start thinking about. This month we're particularly interested in your opinions on World Music: whether you have an opinion of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, the qawwali music tradition or any aspect of World Music you want to talk about. What are some of your favorites? Or just share what's on your mind.

The Ritz is please to present an intriguing fundraiser featuring a gallery with Deborah, an intuitive medium at 7 PM on Tuesday, June 4. The gallery will take place in the historic Green Room, 111 Broadway, Newburgh. Spirits of those who have passed on will connect with Deborah to communicate with people in the room. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness Deborah’s amazing abilities which will help connect you with a family member or friend you have lost.

Deborah discovered she has the ability to connect with people who have passed in August 2001. She has since provided readings for over 3000 people all over the country. Deborah is a frequent guest on radio, with regular appearances on 101.5 WPDH, 96.7 FOX in the lower Hudson Valley and B95.5 and FLY 92.3 in the Albany Area. She also operates The Center for Being, Knowing and Doing in the City of Newburgh, a spiritual education center that offers a broad array of workshops, yoga, energy healing, guided meditations and much more.

Deborah is not only a well known intuitive medium, but also a recognized spiritual educator as well. She finds the most rewarding part of her profession is teaching other that the conversations they have been having with the people they miss the most – have been REAL and are not a figment of their imagination. Her motto to all her clients is that they “are a better medium to the people they have lost, than she will ever be.” “Trust your signs, know that your deceased loved ones not only hear you, but also ANSWER you – ALL the time.”

Deborah was born in Brooklyn, NY and is now a mother of three (very active) young boys. She lives in Newburgh, NY with her children and extended family. You can learn more about Deborah and her center at www.beingknowingdoing.com.

The gallery will be held in the historic Green Room at 111 Broadway. Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased by calling the Ritz Theater Box Office at (845) 784-1199. For your convenience we accept all major credit cards. Tickets may also be purchased through TicketWeb at (866) 468-7619, www.ticketweb.com. All tickets are general admission. Seating is limited. The night of the event, the Box Office opens for ticket sales at 6 pm, doors open at 6:30 pm and the gallery begins at 7 pm.

This is one of many events scheduled this year to help the Ritz Theater, Newburgh, Inc reach its goal of raising $100,000 in the 100th year of theater at 107 Broadway and will benefit the full restoration of the historic theater. We have raised $20,000 so far! For more information please call (845) 784-1199.

My sister and I went into the store today while we were visiting Woodstock. I am originally from Canada and we don't see many places like Woodstock and the stores there. I thought it was a great experience and I absolutely loved looking at all the books. I hope to go back more often and get a few more books to learn more. I thought it was also very helpful how you organized all the books and I very much appreciated it. I am so excited to go back! Thank you!

Sincerely, Brittany

We were in to shop at Mirabi of Woodstock a few weeks back. We've been in this store before and think it's a wonderful place to visit and shop, Or even just to stop in and enjoy the positive vibes that fill the place. Jeff & Audrey are extremely helpful and are both very kind and sincere people. They have a great line-up of classes and instructional events and it would be well worth your time to check them out. You won't be disappointed. - Mike & Diane

The spectators were so overwhelmed with her deep inner expression that most of them were really into tears! Most of them said that they were into meditation experincing Samadhi state of Mind for some period. I'm appalled that his book is the number one seller at such a good place as Mirabai, and that Mirabai would host him. Read the amazon.com reviews. Read the book. Nothing but thinly veiled misogyny and scrambled thoughts. This man should not be receiving the attention he is. He does a disservice to plant teachers.

These things are better left unsaid.

He will show you who you really are. If your soul is Mirabai's, she will show herself when it is time.

Love to you

In reference to the article Agriculture: Local or Organic. Back in 1994 I worked in a health food store..somewhere in Ulster County (I'd prefer not to say where), They had me sit in the back room, peel off the DOLE brand labels & stick on labels that stated: Grown in Mexico - certified Organic. The produce manager at that time told me how they would buy in bulk from Adams, knowing it wasn't fully organic, but they had hundreds of these little labels made up stating: Grown in Mexico, certified Organic. So imagine all these people buying food that they think is Organic & it isn't... I often wonder how many health food stores do that?? Ever since that experience I do buy some foods that are organic; like carrots & kale. In fact the food from Sunfrost farms, in Bearsville is quite good, I prefer to buy from them and local farms.

Reading your story explains Audrey's comment about my Daisy "shape shifting" after her death a few years ago. It was during the extraordinary time of so many portal days. . .of which I knew nothing. The results of this experience were quantum ones truly. I was hurtled back on a spiritual path that I had neglected for many years. Daisy remains with us and actually Sherakhan who was so swiftly sent into the Universe a year ago October, woke up and said, "Now just where the heck am I?" She's back, obviously "shape shifted" into her sister Sonja. I won't elaborate because some of her behaviors were less than - well "tidy". I can only hope that continuous Reiki will calm her soul down. Thank you all at Mirabai - my spiritual haven.

Hey,

Is Mirabai really in with Lord Krishna now? Because I was told when I was younger that I was the Incarnation of Mirabai. I mean you really can't prove it either way. And I mean I have little things that seem odd because I am from the west and born Roman Catholic. But I have been Inlove with Krishna since I first saw his picture. I begged my Dad for a Krishna doll when I was 12 or so, and have been sleeping next to him ever since. And my Guru Ammachi (www.amma.org) married me to Krihna in July 27 2003 at around 3:10 in the morning after I did my own Radha Boba.

so what do you think?

>Please leave the serious thinking to people who think with their brain.

How do you expect your opinion to be taken seriously spouting this kind of condescending ridiculousness? I can see that you have an disfavorable opinion about the price and efficacy of some of Mirabai's products but your patronizing, insulting way of expressing it is petty. You just look like a ranting discontent who feels the need to identify himself as more intelligent and serious then those at Mirabai.

I imagine your political views differ from Marabai's but why so hostile to Maribai expressing theirs? And why would Marabai expressing their disfavorable opinions about President Bush immediately illicit doubts about the shop? Where's the logic in that?

Science and intelligence need not make you so angry!

>I apologize for not providing my full name and email-- it is not normally my style, but I do not wish to hurt my friend whom I care greatly about despite my inability to steer him or her away from this kind of tripe.

Of course!

I am writing in response to the article about the dog as a spiritual guide. what a beautiful story! during a period of difficulty for me, when i was srtuggling with mental illness, the only spiritual guide i had was my dog, ruby. through all the analysis, diagnosis and medication (which i refused to take), there was too much confusion to even feel what i was experiencing. my dog gave constant unconditional love and loyalty, which was exactly what i needed to pull me through the difficult time.

only afterwards did i realize that ruby had shown me the gift of the divine spirit -- eternal, unconditional love and loyalty. i came to understand that mental illness, depression and anxiety, stem from a profound space -- the space deep within where we as mortals are connected to the eternal -- a space in which we feel a great disconnect these days, both individually and collectively. it took a dog to show me this, for she could love without ego, without instruction, without reason. this was my own true nature, which i had learned over the years to disregard from being a human.

one day we will realize that god is probably not a man or a woman. then we will see god everywhere. god is that energy inside each and every living being that teaches the principles of eternal and unconditional love. when we've cluttered our space with ego, hate, nonsense and noise to the point where we can no longer hear it within our own selves, it is exactly these other beings of light that will show us the way.

As a professional in the mental health field, I find that many children and families are not connecting spiritually within. Most of the mental illness observed is environmental. I'm interested in joining your community as a workshop instructor; preferrably with young women experiencing generational dysfunction affecting spiritual growth.

I confess to being a little bit amused by the anonymous diatribe by the elusive "move on" concerning the twin failings of Mirabai of Woodstock; namely, the temerity of wishing to rid this great country of a pernicious President and the even more bizarre belief in energies that might have different properties than those energies currently known within the orders of nature. While I might not purchase a "chakra mala" myself it does not follow that we know all that can possibly be known about potential non-electromagnetic energies. It seems clear that with the advant of membrane theory (a.k.a,. super string theory) we may be faced with the prospect that other things are afoot (in perhaps ten or more dimensions) within the universe than nineteenth century electromagnetic theory has prepared us for. I refuse to claim omniscience concerning the philosophical and empirical foundations of physics. Many people who "think with their brain," and yes, even some of us professors, know that there is a seismic shift taking place within the hard sciences. It is far wiser to take a wait and see attitude concerning the phenomenon of energy than to engage in the tired and intellectually sterile slash and burn method. And yes, I am happy to be counted a fan of Mirabai of Woodstock.
